2019 Gloucester 50K Run Race Day Instructions and Information- Please Read

Please take the time to read all the race day instructions below for the 2019 race. 
Please make sure you read through the instructions thoroughly
Race Venue Registration and General Enquires located at Severn Vale Sports Centre School Lane, Quedgeley Gloucester. GL2 4PR between 8.30am to 10.00am your race Pack with your running number and chip will be sent to you 10 days prior to the race

If you have not received your race pack 6 days prior to the race please Email: There will be no entries on the day. The course is 90% Traffic Free.

Anyone who has lost there race number and chip or did not receive there race pack in the post will need to go to the help desk at registration and General Enquires on the day of the race between 8.30am to 10.00am

Runners must be 20 Years of age on the day of the race
Baggage can be left at Severn Vale Sports Centre, School Lane, Quedgeley, Gloucester GL2 4PR There will be someone with the baggage at all times

Race Briefing
This will take place on the side of the road in the Severn Vale Drive at 10.10am

The Race Start is at 10.23am 800 metres from Severn Vale Sports Centre in Severnvale Drive.

Finish is just before School Lane 150 metres from Severn Vale Sports Centre

The course one and a half laps in Quedgeley and then to the main loop 2.75 miles followed by 5 laps of 5.5 miles then 1 mile to the finish. The course has a UKA Certificate of Course Accuracy and an UK Athletics Licence 

There will be 10K Markers at the following points 10K, 20K, 30K, and 40K  

At the end of each lap you will be given an arm band once you have 5 arm bands on your wrist you head to the race Finish.

Medical support
First Aid and emergency cover is provided by Local Medical Services. There will be Staff on duty on the course and first Aid station at the Finish.

Feeding Station
This will be situated every 5K there will water and at every other feed station High 5

Finish just before School Lane there will be water and High 5 available to competitors

All Finishers will receive a specially designed medal and a special Tech T-Shirt at the Finish.

There are changing rooms and hot showers available to competitors

Results These will be put up on the wall by race registration and
will be put up in intervals. Full results will be available on our
Websites and

Refreshments will be available in Severn Vale Sports Hall Race HQ Tea, coffee, Soft drinks, Sandwiches and cakes

Presentation of awards
This will take place in Severn Vale Sports Hall Race HQ at 2.30pm Individuals and any veterans who have finished and won there age category.

The prizes are as follows first three Individuals Men/Women First Female Vet 0/40 and Male Vet 0/40 and then in the subsequent 10 year age groups up to 80 years of age

The remaining Veteran age categories will be awarded at 3.00pm

No competitor will be able to win two prizes. If a veteran athlete finishes in the first three Positions they will receive the Individual prize. You must collect your prize on the day of the race.

No prizes will be sent out in the post to your postal address

Road Closures
We have had to employ Management Highways contractors to under take the road Closures for the Gloucester 50K Run which as necessitate the increase in the entry fee.

Will be situated at all significant turning points to look after the runner’s safety so please follow and comply with their requests at all times.

Personal and Medical details
As a condition of entry to this event you are required to complete your personal and medical details in the boxes on the back of your race number. You also agree that these may be made available, along with any other personal details to the event organisers and relevant medical race services. In the event of an emergency part of the event terms and conditions are that you agree to supply your contact details to these bodies. By displaying your number you are agreeing to the terms and conditions of this event. Your next of kin/emergency contact should be someone who will be contactable on the day of this event. 

For reasons of health and Safety
Your race number must not be transferred to another person doing so without the permission of the event organisers will result in disqualification.

Postponement   In the unfortunate postponement of the event through circumstances beyond the control of the race organisers or in the event of extreme weather conditions. The organisers reserve the right to postpone the race for the safety of the runners. For either reason above there will be no refunds but the race organisers but will endeavour to hold the race at the earliest possible date.


Car Parking
A car park will be allocated to you two weeks prior to the race. You will receive an Email with the details of the car park with the name of road or street and post code. If you have not received any information of the car park you have been allocated 10 day prior to

Travel Information

By road from the M5 Junction 12 follow signs to Gloucester B4008 at the first roundabout from the M5 take the second exit A38 and then take the next exit left up the slip road (B4008) signed Hardwicke follow the B4008 to the next roundabout take the third exit off this roundabout into Naas Lane. You have been allocated a car park with the companies name the road name or street and post code. These details will be forwarded to your email address

From the A40/A417 ring road roundabout 
Follow signs to Gloucester over causeway at the first traffic lights turn right A430 Castle Meads Way/Llanthony Road follow A430 after 4kms you join the Bristol Road A38 follow this road for approximately 2.4 kms at the first roundabout take the first left into Waterwells Drive. You have been allocated a car park with the name of the road or street and companies name and post code. These details will be forwarded to your email address
